Zhe Wang
Zhe Wang (born September, 2006) is a disability-rights advocate and cultural heritage artist. She is a student at the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China. In 2022, she founded L.R NGO, an over 600-member organization supporting individuals with hearing impairment. Under her leadership, it became the largest club at her school by 2024, directly helping over 500 people and impacting countless others.
Wang is the youngest inheritor of the World Cultural Heritage—Gourd Carving. She has been invited for a personal interview on China Central Television, where she introduced gourd carving in Chinese, English, and French to audiences of over 1.42 million. Her works have been collected by museums and featured in major media and newspapers. In the future, she will continue to engage in disability rights advocacy and cultural preservation.
In her academic endeavors, she delves into the field of inclusive education, especially the topic of technology and inclusive education. She has published several articles in Contemporary Educational Research, Open Journal of Social Science, and Social and Scientific Journal.
In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, having studied Dai (minority group) dance and ballet as a child, now leads school dance rehearsals as vice president of the Street Dance Club; she also enjoys boxing and teaches self-defense to female students.
